Examples of Unconventional Product Packaging Designs

Examples of Unconventional Product Packaging Designs

Graphic design covers a broad range of mediums, but one of my favourites is that of product packaging design. Few mediums present such an interesting challenge, or have so many constraints. The packaging needs to be sized to fit the product, it needs to grab passing visitors attention as they casually wander around a shop floor, it needs to give away enough information about the product itself, it needs to be recognizable and it needs to be “on brand”, amongst many, many other constraints. When you get down to it, designing the packaging for a product can be remarkably tough.

That’s why I’m so impressed with this collection of packaging designs. These designs are all so unusual and creative that they make their competitors look a little dull by comparison. They’re bright, loud and have a visual appeal that’s all their own. I’ve brought this collection together to hopefully inspire you for the next time you need to work on a product packaging design project – and if you know of any examples that would fit in well here, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
